Atom Program Overview
Atom Football is an introduction to the sport of football for players aged 7-10. The program stresses the development basic playing techniques and an orientation to the rules of the game. The development of players at this level focuses on learning and having fun in a safe, closely monitored environment.
Your child will likely have the opportunity to play many different positions on offence and on defense in practices and games. While not meant to be competitive from a scorekeeping perspective all Atom Football activities are well organized nonetheless. Coaches are generally on the field with the players, and they act as referee’s as well.
The season generally starts in mid-August and runs to the beginning of November. There are usually 2 and sometimes 3 practices per week, and games are generally played on weekend afternoons at various locations around the city.
